Microsoft is faced with litigation over monitoring software in Windows Phones

A class action lawsuit has been registered against computer giant Microsoft which alleges that consumers that use the device are monitored geographically without their authorisation.

It is alleged that the Windows 7 Phone tracks geographical information on the user whether or not the phone’s owner asks that this information isn’t distributed. Users are asked the first time they start the camera software if they want to reveal their information and the lawsuit says that Microsoft gathers the data even if the user opts-out.
