BRIDESMAID DUTIES

Being a bridesmaid comes with many duties. Anyone asked to be a bridesmaid should consider this to be a great honor. Not only will the bridesmaid spend many hours with the bride in planning the wedding, but the bridesmaid will have many wedding ideas for the bride herself.

If you are new to the wedding etiquette and need to know what your duties are as a bridesmaid, then below are several wedding tips you will need to know to fulfill your duties.

The most important is helping the bride plan her special day. The bride will need all the help she can get and will rely on you, the bridesmaid, to help.

Paying for your own dress. This can be different in certain situations, but most of the time, it’s the bridesmaid responsibility to buy her own dress. You must remember, the bride does have control of what colors and what style is chosen.

Help with invitations. Depending on how many attend the wedding and reception, the bride will depend on the bridesmaid to help get those invitations out in a timely manner.

Help with the wedding and wedding reception decorations. Sure, there will be more than one bridesmaid to help, but the bride will depend on all of you to make sure the decorations are completed.

There are many other duties of course, such as helping with the guest gifts, attending the rehearsals and the dinner and help with the clean up, but each wedding is different and each bride will have her own say on what the bridesmaid duties are.
